Access and inclusion
Working on making your group’s activities and events more accessible, inclusive and diverse will bring many benefits, including removing barriers for new participants or audiences to join you. These resources will inform your thinking and support you to take action towards your group’s own vision of inclusion.
You’ll find resources covering general inclusive practice, on tackling specific barriers and tools for groups who want to take more targeted action. As part of our INCLUDE research project (2023 – 2025), we developed a suite of resources to support music groups to build inclusion and diversity. Get involved in the conversation by joining an event or signing up to our Access and Inclusion Network.
Making Music: INCLUDE
From 2023 – 2025, Making Music ran a research project with four of our member groups called INCLUDE. We explored what leisure-time music groups could do to include a wider diversity of people in their activities and what Making Music could do better to support them. The resources we created from this research will support any music group to take action and build inclusion and diversity in their own groups.
