Over 30 years on since the original World Choir events were staged in Cardiff, Young Voices is inviting singers to join the ambitious mass scale choral performance for its return in 2027, as part of the new Land of Song Festival. In May 2027, Wales will host one of the most ambitious participatory choral events ever staged. The Land of Song Festival, a new celebration of Welsh culture and collective singing, will bring together choirs of all ages at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. At the heart of the festival is Côr World Choir 2027 – a massed adult choir event on a truly extraordinary scale.

Côr World Choir will unite up to 20,000 singers from across Wales, the wider UK and internationally for one shared stadium performance. Community choirs, chamber choirs, choral societies and lifelong singers are all invited to take part. Whether you are a small local ensemble or a large established society, this event is designed to be inclusive, ambitious and unforgettable.

For many choirs, large-scale performances are a highlight of the musical calendar. Côr World Choir offers something rarely experienced: the opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with thousands of other singers in an iconic national venue, creating a sound and atmosphere that can only be achieved at scale. The original World Choir events were staged in Cardiff in the early 1990s, and Côr World Choir 2027 marks a return to those roots with renewed ambition. Over 30 years on, the vision is bigger: to create a shared cultural moment shaped by scale, pride and belonging.

Alongside Côr World Choir, the festival will also host Young Voices Cymru, bringing 15,000 young singers together in the same stadium. Together, these events form a multi-generational celebration of participatory music-making at its most powerful.
